Back with a bump…

And that does not include the landing of the plane, that thank goodness was pretty smooth. I mean the temperature has dropped so much that my newly (slightly) tanned body is not going to see the light of day, I am even considering covering up the ole’ ankles and hands and just baring my brown face, although this morning I would have gladly covered that up as well, partly because of the antarctic frosty weather and partly due to a week of very late nights and far to many cocktails! Anyway, enough of the moaning I should realise by now that as soon as this country hits bonfire night its goodbye warmth.

It has been a great little jaunt away though to our little paradise in the sun and to sit around the pool in your bikini at the beginning of November was truly something and I think if I said that once on holiday I said it a million times ( much to the annoyance of my hubby! )

With lounging around the pool, playing a spot of tennis and watching the kids play on the beach my mind (as always) turned to the wintery fashion that awaited me back here in the UK. I had already been browsing and had ear-marked some ( a stack!) great must haves for the season ahead and I have continued in my quest for the perfect winter wardrobe on my return….all in the name of research I might add and to show you what I have found. So here’s just a few, I will put a few in each post this week:

First on my never expanding wish list is this Longline slouchy dress from Whistles

I think this is perfect for throwing on with some tall boots and a chunky blanket scarf or even a camel coat….Grey and camel look fab together and my favourite colours this season ( well any season really! )

Next is, and running with the huge trend of Faux fur is the Roll top clutch from Topshop

I absolutely love this shape and colour, it is neutral so will fit straight into your wardrobe and is big enough to use both for day and night. Add a few faux fur pom-poms to add interest too.

Ok next may not be winter warmers but it is party season too and these faux fur trimmed shoes are my favourite ones out of many that are on the high street, the shape make them look really expensive and the heel height is perfect for dancing ( or swaying) the night away!

Black faux fur and suede sandals

Next up … enter the polo neck to beat all polo necks! I love jumpers that have a bit of a twist because lets face it jumpers have to be the most boring of clothes, I really struggle to get excited over jumpers and don’t have that many in my wardrobe ( honest) So this one is brilliant, different and even sexy. Warm? Probably not but who cares at least I could show a tanned shoulders ( and elbows??)

Cut out polo neck by Filles a Papa

pauli-ivorySo for me its all about adding bit of something different to spice up those winter days, hope you like my must have edit….Whats on your wish list for winter?

A few pictures of our holiday to finish….
